Causes of Homelessness:
One of the largest causes of homelessness is natural disasters. Natural disasters can leave thousands, or even millions homeless. For example, Hurricane Katrina left millions homeless in New Orleans. To this day, people are still recovering from this disaster. Another main cause of homelessness is lack of a good education. Education is very important if you want to obtain a good job. People who drop out of school are more likely to become homeless, because their likeliness to get a good job is slim. Mental and physical illness are also huge causes of homelessness. Mentally disabled people are much less likely to get a job, even if they want to. Physically disabled people are also at a disadvantage to get a job, because no one wants to hire someone that can't work without supervision. Lastly, drugs and alcohol are both main causes of homelessness. People that get addicted to either drugs or alcohol are likely to stop working and caring about life. They are likely to end up on the streets.
