Basic Information About Homelessness
Homelessness is a huge problem, in
San Francisco, America, and the world. In San Francisco alone, there
are around 6,248 homeless people. Some of the main causes of homeless
are natural disasters, roberies, drugs, alcohol, and bad education.
Some of the effects of homelessness are: hunger, sickness rates
increase, being cold at night, and not having a feeling of security.
Many currently homeless children have never lived in a solid home for
years. The effects of homelessness on children can be even more severe.
Homeless children tend to struggle in school much more often than none homeless. Homeless children also are more likely to repeat a grade. 50% have emotional problems and/or never have lived in a permanent home. 70 %
